What happens when a turn of the century farmhouse collides with Dennis Tapp’s eclectic décor and the tantalizing culinary creations of renowned chef Michael Crouch?

Bistro 1860 happens.

From the charming outside patio entrance to uniquely intimate dining areas, exquisite French-American fusion cuisine, one-of-a-kind wine bar, outrageous cocktails, and quaint fireplaces, you’ll be treated to a sensuously delicious bistro experience that has many patrons speaking a little French before the evening’s over…ooh la la!

A long-time dream of owners Ron Kayrouz and Terry Fereday, Bistro 1860 epitomizes the perfect blend of delicious food and exceptional service within a casually comfortable environment – a dream realized in large part from the experience Ron gained running a successful restaurant with his father J.P. for over two decades.

ABOUT CHEF

IT ALL STARTED WITH A COCONUT CREAM PIE 

Ron met Michael many moons ago while still a teenaged stock boy at a local produce shop and the two became fast friends. Michael would often brag about his cooking and Ron playfully challenged Michael to cook something for him.  And he did…and it was the best coconut cream pie Ron had ever tasted.  While they both went their separate ways, they never lost touch, Ron never forgot that pie, and he vowed they would someday own their own restaurant.

Over the years, Michael honed his chef skills at respected Louisville restaurants, spending several summers in Paris learning from some of the French masters. Today, Executive Chef Michael Crouch relies on his vast experience to create some of the most amazing French-American fusion cuisine this side of the Seine River.

 


CruvinetWINE BAR & SPIRITS 

BEHOLD OUR WINE “TIME MACHINE” 

One of the largest in the country and one of only two in the area, our cruvinet system keeps up to 54 opened bottles of wine as fresh as the moment they were uncorked for up to 6 weeks, thanks to an amazing apparatus that infuses the wine with nitrogen. Our extensive wine list offers something for even the most discriminating connoisseur. You’ll also find our custom cocktails quite tempting, not to mention our vast beer selection.
